If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it?*

I've been a bit MIA as of late, and that's mostly because Real Life has reached up and swallowed me whole.

I expect things will cool down once M is done with student teaching, which is in about 5-6 more weeks. But please note that I will be mostly MIA during that time. If I am specifically requested, I can probably make some time, but otherwise... sorry, guys.

Consider M in the same boat.

Thanks!

So, at long last, Bad Things Come in Threes, the fairly epic three-part opening plot for the Avengers is done. Thank you all for your patience and participation.

Feel free to toss up post-fight interaction and reactions in the end thread here: http://marvel-legacies.dreamwidth.org/5222.html

There's a couple fights to wrap up still, but those can be gotten to at people's readiness. For the most part, things are done.

However, Tony is missing an arm, Cap, Namor, Hawkeye and numerous others are in critical condition (they'll survive - but recovery is going to take a long time). The mansion has been virtually destroyed.

The next scene is a purely social one, with the kids being named as the team for now - and with their parents hospitalized for some time, they're going to be flying without a net for a good while. The social scene will also mark 2 things: 1. A time to introduce the characters who were not in part 1. We have a couple of those. 2. The Avengers will be moving to Hydrobase... which has been docked and mostly unused, other then the research labs, for years... so there's quite a bit of work to do.
That scene will go up sometime next week, when some of our players are back from weekend things.

Thanks again, everyone!

Edit side note: Yep, there's Nazis, bunches of them. These are mostly the WWII era versions, so Master Man and Warrior Woman are a little upwards of Cap, not a little upwards of Namor.
Also, this is the time for people to tell me if they want to pull off improbable but awesome. This fight is where people get to be extra cool. Let me know what you want, and if its remotely within bounds of your character, we can make it happen.
Also note, the room is full of debris for those who want it - but also trophies from Avengers' past victories. The cube is the only super-artifact, and most things have no power... but if you want to even odds some, feel free to have your character figure out how to pick up and power/use... pretty much any non-cosmicish device from almost any Avengers' villain in their history. Get creative - the kids get to win this one - it shouldn't be easy, but they can win with style.

Post is here: http://marvel-legacies.dreamwidth.org/5222.html

Zemo will be summoning a bunch of the Nazi super villains from the war era to take on the Avengers while he figures out the Cube.

Feel free to punch Nazis - please just don't take on Zemo - that one is reserved.

Also, if anyone feels up to helping temp Nazis for people to fight - please let me know. I could use the help.

After this plot is done, social scene will be getting going to bring in new chars and open Hydrobase while the Mansion is undergoing repairs. We're almost there. Thanks for the patience folks.

So, waiting on one thing before putting up the end of 'Bad Things Come in Threes', where everyone will have a chance to kill Nazis.
When that's done, now that I've gotten a bit of an assessment of who we have, I could use a little help from anyone good with making icons and util journals in general, and then we'll be good to go with the next things very quickly.

Anyone up for helping out with iconning and util journal construction? I can give all the info needed.

After that, we have:
1. A bit of a social scene for the kids to realize they're the Avengers now. Most of the parents are down for quite some time, and a lot of them were nearing retirement anyway before it was forced on them. Also a chance to kind of assess the state of the world, and realize that a LOT of people are going to be on edge right now, or looking for revenge, or whatever else, while the Avengers are perceived to be weakened.
1A. This will also be where the roster expands, and we gain Tarah, Nightingale brings in Suzu, Rikki shows up, etc. Anyone who wasn't in on 'Bad Things' can join here. The Avengers will need the help.
2. Atlantis Rising:
Atlantis Rising:
The Deviants of Lemuria have been quiet a long time, but news has reached them that Namor has been broken. They have not been able to find the Serpent Crown, but their priests have found another way they believe they can call upon Set – genocide.
Using a powerful ritual, they begin to slowly raise Atlantis to the surface. Portions of Atlantis believe they have come under attack, and blame the surface dwellers – leading to an attack on the east coast, along with tsunamis and earthquakes.
The damage done also leads to a jailbreak, and some of Atlantis’ most powerful enemies escape, with Meranno, Attuma, Tyrak and Orka (and others, depending on who all is on this part of things) launching an attack on the hospital to try and kill Namor while he’s weakened.
The Avengers initially need to help with disaster relief and battle Atlantean legions. This shouldn’t be too bad, just a chance for everyone to get some badass time in. When they capture and interrogate one of the Atlanteans, they find out what is going on, and also get an urgent red alert – the team needs to split into three groups:
1. Continue to hold off the Atleanteans to let disaster relief and rescue crews do their work.
2. Go to save Namor from some of his worst criminals, none of whom is a lightweight.
3. Everyone capable of underwater activity, including a few of Ara’s supporting cast need to discover what is causing Atlantis to rise and stop it
Ironically, in the process of all this, the earthquakes open up a new fissure, which will ultimately allow Matthieu Zola to find the Serpent Crown, which will set up a later plot.

After that, I'd like to get ideas of what people want. I'm good at plotting, but only so-so at actual running. I have M's help, but more volunteers would be welcome.
The ideas sort of kicking around right now:
1. a miniplot with Sammie Fury, Alice Dugan, Steven Coulson, Tarah, Nightingale and Brant involving some sneaking and espionage type work. Possibly others who might be a good fit here - but none of the heavies.
2. An utter crack plot featuring Ara, Brant and their supporting casts in the Agents of Atlas and GLA - Ninja Raptors from out of time vs. Pirate Monkeys from outer space!!!
3. Some sort of Trinity plot with the first children - Peggy, Rilla and Sig. I don't want to run this one, but would love to see something with it.
4. I have an idea for a Lucas and Tarah plot involving the Russians and some plot threads CJ sort of set up.
5. I believe that Jordan and Eric were thinking of eventually doing something with the nega-bands, the Void, etc. - details welcome.

volunteers to help run, plotting sessiony things, etc. all welcome. I definitely want to try and take advantage of some of the recent momentum and pick back up. Feedback and ideas are also most welcome.

So I like wizards, magic, fantasy, horror, and H.P Lovecraft.

Big shock, right guys?

So I want to do a Call of Cthulhu meets Marvel Legacies stye plot. The whole idea is based upon bringing together the team and stopping an Eldritch abomination from breaking into the world.

The character I plan on bringing in is Doctor Veronica Hawkings an Indiana Jones ,(with a few magic trick under her belt), like character from a very Lovecraftian universe who has found herself spat out into the Legacy universe and will be fighting the cult trying to bring the Old One of their choice into the Legacies universe.

There will be lots of action, magic, horror, and probable silliness in this plot. I'll of course expand on this once I have an idea of who is in on the shenanigans.

Any thoughts? Character ideas? Pie?

Ok so it's not a meme, cause I just made it up. But maybe it'll catch on!

Basically the idea is this, characters post who they wouldn't mind running into under the mistletoe.

This is a safe haven for the character and no relationship repercussions allowed! Each character is allowed to respond to the person who names but is not obligated to. Nor is the form of response obligated to be a kiss. Respond as the character would under a consequence free situation.

So there's your mistletoe! Get going!

Jeff's computer decided to be all stupid and die on him, so he told Gavin, Gavin told chat and I am cross posting here. Jeff may be out for a while, slow to respond or delayed in getting back to people. But he will be around when he can on borrowed computers. Have no fear! He shall return! So just a heads up for any who missed it in chat.

Howdy guys! Now that we have the team rolling and some report with one another, there have been a few ideas thrown out that bear discussing. Beth has some ideas for Weapon X shenanigans, and Corey has some things she would like Astra to do, so I figured that we should make a post and discuss it and come up with some plottage. :)

Corey wants for Astra to save Gene's life in some way, thus proving her trust worthiness. I am more than willing to put Gene in any kind of bad situation. These are the things Beth would like to see:

1) David's Mother is still alive. She's being held by Weapon X somewhere for future blackmail. Also she has an unexpressed X gene that they have been using as a template to help give their operatives secondary mutations outside of the healing factor.

2) The doctor David trusts finds a way to plant a message on one of the Weapon Xers or David to find to tell him that they have his Mom.

3) He finds out the doctor has been found out and is slated for either readjustment or getting outright killed. David wants to save her from that fate.

4) He also wants to find out where his Mother is at to save her.

So.. Here is my thought. Weapon X still wants Gene, and they lost David. Maybe there is some sort of mission that the Roughnecks get sent on that is really a cover for the Weapon X retreval attempt? I wouldn't mind seeing Gene be captured so that the chain of command in the team was given a chance to shine. The Roughnecks train a lot. They are a very cohesive and capable force. It would be really cool to see the team loose Gene as its figurehead and still function like a well oiled machine. Yea, Gene is the CO, but I really want it to be established that the team works so well because of everyone who is there, and not because Gene makes the team work.

Any other ideas I have are not fully formed, at the moment. Some bloody injuries for all involved would be nice. Ultra risk, ultra violence also. There are ways for your character to stay non-lethal if you wish, tho I see Gene and David and perhaps Astra (in particular) being pressed to use deadly measures, from what people are having ideas of what they'd like.

Anyways, post and let me know what you think!

Hi everyone!

I believe I know everyone here, but in case I don't, I'll introduce myself. I'm Allie, and I just joined with two new characters.

The first one is this girl right here, N'Dare T'Challa, daughter of Ororo Munroe and T'Challa. She's a princess of Wakanda, and has recently turned eighteen, and has been allowed to travel to the Untied States to join the X-Men. She visited the Institute frequently with her parents (at least a couple of times a year), when she was younger, so there's a chance that if you have a character on the X-Men who's been around for awhile, she might know them!

My second character is Veronica Pym [personal profile] wee_sting, who will be joining the folks over at the Young Avengers. As I missed the initial set-up for the current plot, I probably won't be jumping in there, but will set something up as an open bendy-timed scene to after the plot ends to throw her in the game. She's seventeen, and being the daughter of Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, has likely known some of the other Avenger kids for quite sometime (the ones that she grew up with, at least, as I'm aware there's a few that were that weren't around the mansion as much).

In the case of both N'Dare and Veronica, I'm willing to work on establishing past connections to characters in game, as I've already begun to do so with a couple of the lovely people here!

I can be reached for plotting via email at fireflydreams01@yahoo.com or on AIM at awesomelymusical if I'm around. I'm fairly flexible, so feel free to poke me!

I'm looking forward to playing with everyone! :)

Post is up here: http://marvel-legacies.dreamwidth.org/2449.html

Almost everyone will have their own thread. The first post is for reactions and all. The ids are going to get split up trying to rescue everyone in time, and run into an arch-nemesis. I didn't get villains for quite everyone, mainly the people who joined latish - which is primarily the younger kids, so they can lend someone a hand.

BIG reminder: NONE of these battles should be easy. They should be messy, they should be hard, they should be vicious. These are arch-nemeses for a reason, and the villains frequently have an advantage... the Avengers' kids WILL win, but it should be at a cost and a struggle to everyone, and everyone should be hurting pretty bad by the time we get to part 3.
Feel free to be struggling or losing, and get some help as people come out of their fights, or from the people without a main nemesis.

More temp-ers for the MoE would be helpful. CJ is handling Enyalius and Super-Skrull for me (THANKS!) - the others are up in a post in the ooc, or I can give assignments/info on request.

Thanks for your patience, folks!

Weapon X:
Bunch of mercenary types to team up with David and help occupy the X-Men, and help set up an initial mismatch, and then help isolate the Logan brothers against each other without punking everyone else, and letting the whole team have some moments.
They can, of course, be recurring villains beyond the first plot as well.

Still need someone to icon them and such, and a utility journal... but here's the write-ups, intended to be a good challenge for the X'er roster we have.

The Roster )

[personal profile] bone_claws
Howdy-ho! Your friendly neighborhood X-Men admin is here and ready to roll out the first plot. We have a lot of nibbles on characters so this isn't a hard and fast list.

On the team, we have...

Gene Howlett - Razorback (Commanding officer) played by Blanche
Melinda Dyars - Shatter (First Officer) played by Gavin
Stefanie Logan Wagner von Elphburg - Forethought (Second Officer) played by Kate
David Roberts - Badger played by Beth
Carter Rasputin - Alloy played by CJ
Nikolai Ursus played by Jeff
Jessica Morgan - Photon played by Dylan
Evelyn Masters - Meme played by Batty
Cassandra Millena - Astra played by Corey

The first plot is actually going to be a Weapon X strike, in which the initial team (all but David) will show up and find.. David. Who's got a powerset suspiciously like Gene and Gene's dad. David is going to buzzsaw through the team and be really tough to handle.. until finally Gene goes up against him and fights David to a standstill. Then through coercion or shenanigans (or both) they end up taking David back with them to the X-Men.

Alright! Any ideas? Questions? Comments?

Ok, the opening plot for Marvel Legacies is up! Please jump in with your New Avengers characters at your leisure. Its going to start out social - don't worry, the Hulk will be along any minute, once everyone is pinged in and scene is moving.

A few important notes:
1. If you want your character involved in this plot, they /must/ be in on the first portion of the scene. Doesn't need to be much. NONE of the characters are at the mansion. There's a good reason for this. Nor can anyone duck back there to grab anything real quick. If they wouldn't be at an Avengers' kids social outing, they can just happen to be at the mall, and duck into costume or something, but things are happening at Avengers' mansion. Likewise, if they wouldn't have some of their gear, they'll have chances to get it and do stuff further along. For the first part, having people out of costume or without their powers saving civilians, playing crowd control, etc. would be awesome, and let us break a thread up.
2. The scene is called 'Bad Things Come in Threes' for a reason. There will be three parts. Everyone will get their chances to do things, and if you aren't getting everything you might want to pull off in part 1 - that's what parts 2 and 3 are for.
3. If you're not up for pinging in and all, there will be more plots and more chances to get involved down the road. This is just the beginning, and everyone has ties to the team. Feel free to watch from the sidelines on this one if you like and come in after this plot. Just remember, if you're not there in some fashion for pt. 1 of this plot, you're sitting out for parts 2 and 3 as well.
4. I know there's a ton of awesome support character and outside character ideas. They're not in this plot. Please keep this to core Avengers only. (And yes, this is an event that people could find reasons for others to know about, and wonder why no one else is there... for the same reason the X-Men, Avengers and F4 aren't in 2/3rds of each other's stories, despite proximity. This is an Avengers' story - there'll be things for other people later.)

And the basic rundown:
Pt.I: The kids are out shopping, or hanging out at the mall. Others with secret identities can just be there in general, and get into costume when the chaos hits. The chaos, in this case, will be a wounded, extremely angry Hulk suddenly being teleported into the mall. There will be one thread for fighting the Hulk - primarily for some of the heavies, and as many threads as people want, in 2's, 3's or more to do things like pulling damsels out from under collapsing roofs, rescue runaway strollers, put out fires, coordinate evacuation, etc. - this is a disaster of huge proportions. There's more than enough panic to prevent and chances for daring saves for everyone.
This is also THE HULK. He's coming in upset and out of his mind - he's going to shrug off a lot, and probably hurt people. The kids WILL win, but its going to take some teamwork.

Pt II: All calls to the Avengers got no response. Their comms are being jammed. On realizing this, the Avengers' kids get home to find it badly damaged. There are people watching from a distance, but no one wants to get close when people know they saw a rampaging Hulk around here somewhere.
Investigation will reveal that the Masters of Evil are inside, and they're ransacking and looting the place. Tony is being tortured for information on Stark access codes, and most of the Avengers' adults have been injured, some of them critically, either by the Hulk or by the MoE.
This will start as a bunch of 1 on 1 fights - FREE COOKIES FOR ANYONE WHO WILL HELP ME TEMP THE MoE....pleeeeease?
Some of them the villains have an edge. Some of them, the heroes do. Enough of the heroes need to win to start creating some mismatches and 2 on 1's elsewhere. People can toss suggestions out for who they might end up teaming up with and such - feedback is welcome. By the end of this EVERYONE should be hurting, potentially badly. There are no easy fights or one shots. That's part of the point of arch-enemies. Eventually the Avengers need to win...but it should be a struggle.

Pt. III, finale: Just as they think they've won, Citizen VI finds the cosmic cube in the vaults. He's going to call on various Nazi enemies to crush the Avengers - and should start out working. Peggy needs to rally the troops, get everyone together, and they need to give her a shot to get to Citizen VI - just as he's opening a dimensional portal up to try and banish the Avengers. He'll end up knocked through it instead by Peggy while everyone else buys her time.

Endscenes: There's time for clean up, social, recovery, etc. People should be hurt, tired, etc - most of their parents are hospitalized. Blanche has long term plans for Tony from this - one of which is that, as rebuilding is beginning, he'll have to inform the kids that, with so many of the adults injured, some of them long term, the kids are the Avengers' active roster now.

When you've read this, first post is here: http://marvel-legacies.dreamwidth.org/572.html

Over on DC Nation, we have this thing in the OOC posts called "Loaded Questions" (mostly because I got the first set of questions from a board game by the same title). The idea is that questions are put up in the OOC. Answers are given IC, as a bit of a writing exercise, and others can react IC if you like... but this is entirely a writing exercise, and information gathered here obviously does not count as IC-knowledge from your character. It can, however, potentially prompt scenes or RP.

I'll be putting up questions here, too. I typically do it about once a week or so. This week's question:

Describe something pleasant about your childhood.
victorygoddess: (Close up calm)
[personal profile] victorygoddess
Ok, so we are on the verge of ready to go. A couple people need profiles, and we'll have in comm scenes going... quite possibly by this evening. So, while people are waiting, here's a little exercise.

We have a Tony, we probably have a Rachel Leighton. We may have at least one sidekick. Sig likely has an instructor. We have someone watching the com who has said she'll occasionally help with parents and such.... and we really want to encourage people to help each other out with support staff. So here's an exercise in 2 parts:

1. The easy one.
If you could have any 3 characters around as support for your main, who would they be? Parents, sidekicks, siblings, new takes on legacy concepts like War Machines for Starklings, etc. - who would they be?
A)
B)
C)

2. The tougher one.
This is not a hard commitment thread. Just something to get people thinking. Can you think of up to 3 supporting cast characters you might be willing to play if there was interest?
A)
B)
C)

Respond with answers. If you don't have 3 on either one, that's fine. This is just something to get people thinking and asking about each other's ideas.

As a side note, having done something like this before - support is easiest, and requires the least invites, if you do just one journal, and put 1-3 icons of each support char in it. They won't show up as much, so one icon is usually sufficient. Each one really doesn't usually need their own journal.
Regardless, this is obviously a thing for when we get more invites - just like villains and util journals would be... but we shouldn't need more than +1 invite per person for all of their support.
